ROYAL INSTITUTION HOLDS ITS 45th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE AND CONFERMENT CEREMONY
Professionals from various fields and disciplines gathered at the Grand Astoria Hotel, Zamboanga City, Philippines on 17–19 April 2026 for the Royal Institution’s 45th International Conference and Conferment Ceremony with the theme “Charting an Al-Enabled Future: Digital Transformation for Future-Proofing Education, Business and Industry, and Public Administration.”
The Royal Institution extends its sincerest gratitude to the Asia’s Latin Institute, Inc., and Basilan State College for their invaluable support as Collaboration Partners in facilitating the event and for nominating distinguished faculty members for conferment.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by the Royal Institution’s Guest of Honor, Hon. FDr. Dr. Nora M. Ponce and Guest Speaker, H.E. FDr. Leong Sze Hian, and was assisted by RI Officials, its Collaboration Partners, and College Presidents. This was followed by ten (10) research poster presentations.
The event commenced with Welcome Remarks delivered by Dr. Leonardo C. Garcia, Jr., President, Asia’s Latin Institute, Inc., and an Opening Address by FDr. Prof. Dr. Samuel M. Salvador, HonFRI, Chancellor, Royal Institution Singapore, followed by the reading of the Board of Secretary’s Certification, by FDr. Dr. Helen S. Molano, DFRICCO, Chief Compliance Officer, Royal Institution Singapore.
Three (3) prominent speakers addressed the event theme:
• H.E. FDr. Leong Sze Hian, DFRIBM, DFRIFP, DFRIM, Former Honorary Consul for Jamaica & Burkina Faso
• Hon. FDr. Dr. Celso L. Lobregat, HonFRI, DFRIPAr, Chief of Staff and Executive Secretary to the Mayor, Zamboanga City, Republic of the Philippines (whose speech was delivered on his behalf by his Executive Assistant, Mr. Roderico Lucero)
• Hon. FDr. Dr. Nora M. Ponce, HonFRI, DFRIEdr, DFRIM, University Professor & Former President, Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University
A special message on behalf of Hon. Khymer Adan T. Olaso, City Mayor of Zamboanga, was also delivered by his representative, Mr. Rosendo Castillo III, Executive Assistant I to the Mayor.
Oral research paper presentations were delivered by:
• Mr. Jose Zantua III, SMRIMktg, who presented his research, “Impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on Decision Making in Selected Business Process Outsourcing in Quezon City: Basis for Integration and Adoption Plan”
• Mr. Ramlloyd N. Pascasio, MRIDent, who presented the research, “Integrating Dry Needling Principles to Oro-Facial Pain Management,” co-authored with FDr. Dr. Brian E. Esporlas.
HON. FDR. DR. MILABEL E. HO and HON. FDR. DR. NORA M. PONCE were conferred as Honorary Fellows of the Royal Institution Singapore — a lifetime recognition bestowed, in honor of their significant contributions and achievements in their respective professions. The Honorary Fellow Citations and Certificates, along with the RI Doctor Fellow Certificates, were read and presented by FDr. Prof. Dr. Samuel M. Salvador, HonFRI; and the RI Honorary Robes and medallions were presented by FDr. Dr. Athena Georgene Ang, DFRICEO, assisted by FDr. Dr. Helen S. Molano, DFRICCO.
A Conferment Ceremony followed, honoring local and international professionals with the membership titles of Doctor Fellow, Senior Fellow, Fellow, Senior Member, and Member of various RI professional institutes.
This was followed by the Presentation of the International Award of Recognition and RI Accredited Seal to:
• Mati Polytechnic College, Inc., received by its CEO & President, FDr. Dr. Janice Bernadeth G. Agbong, DFRIEdr, DFRIM; and its Executive Vice President, Dr. Iris Jane G. Agbong-Coates, SFRIEdr, FRIM
In her Closing Remarks, FDr. Dr. Athena Georgene Ang, DFRICEO, President, Royal Institution Singapore, congratulated the newly conferred members and expressed her heartfelt gratitude for everyone’s support and active participation in the success of the event.
The Royal Institution invites you to its upcoming Special Conferment Ceremony on May 30 2026, at Hotel Grand Pacific, Singapore. This event is held in conjunction with the 26th SIMP-AAIRI Joint Multidisciplinary Research Conference, organized in collaboration with Ascendens Asia International Research Institute and Singapore Institute of Multidisciplinary Professions.
